Work Proud: Workshop for Supervisors

Women Building Futures is holding a series of workshops geared towards women in various working capacities.


This four-hour is Building Workplace Success for supervisors. It takes a look at the four Best Practices for building strong teams and demonstrates how creating a successful workplace is good for business operations. 


Individual activities will focus on the impacts of staff quitting, importance of mentoring, the costs of staff turnover and setting SMART goals. Effective communication and role playing difficult staff conversations highlight the group portion of the workshop. Facilitated discussions on effective communication, a respectful workplace, as well as supervisor’s roles and responsibilities.


Real life scenarios will be critically examined and evaluated while exploring alternate outcomes based on improved communication techniques. Objectives also include: describing and identifying the impacts of staff turnover; the importance of personal accountability; identifying the supervisor’s role in a respectful workplace; and, techniques to deal with difficult conversations as a supervisor.
