Feds call for immigration levels public submissions

The Government of Canada’s Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada 2018-2020 plan is aimed at responsibly growing national immigration levels from 310,000 in 2018, to 330,000 in 2019, to 340,000 new permanent residents in 2020. This measured, gradual increase – supported by investments in processing, settlement, and security screening – will trend towards one per cent of the population increase over the course of the three years.

The plan contributes to a strong and prosperous Canada, not just by increasing the number of skilled immigrants to support our economic goals, but also by ensuring more admissions space for reuniting families and for protecting refugees.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada invites citizens to submit their views by email to IRCC.COMMConsultations-ConsultationsCOMM.IRCC@cic.gc.ca.

Submissions will be accepted until August 15, 2018. This input will contribute to the planning of immigration levels in the coming years.
