Alberta Minimum Wage Review

June 3, 2010 by admin

The Standing Committee on the Economy  will be reviewing the Minimum Wage Policy for Alberta for the 2011 year.

Currently the minimum wage has been held at $8.80 for 2010. Input is required in order to establish if the freeze should hold through 2011 or be adjusted based on the average weekly earnings of Albertans.

The Brooks & District Chamber of Commerce suggests that keeping the wage at $8.80 for the 2011 year would be best for the still recovering business climate.
We are requesting your input and  would be pleased to submit information on your behalf. As small business owners and Managers this issue can greatly affect the choices you make for your business.
Your opinions are valued.
Written submissions must be received no later than June 7, 2010. Submissions will be made public.
Please respond with your input as soon as possible to the Chamber at manager@brookschamber.ab.ca
